Director of Technology (FILLED)


The Director of Technology, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of all technology projects and associated resources that enable and continually enhance the Company’s ability to deliver exceptional service to their clients and other stakeholders. The scope of responsibility includes the management of all resources – including personnel, budget, and vendors – engaged in the delivery of all technology and telecommunications services used by the Firm.

A key objective for this role is to implement best practice approaches for the management of the Company’s technology and telecommunications resources; and, to maximize reliability and availability of all infrastructure and software applications while continually upgrading the infrastructure and suite of enterprise applications to deliver the most efficient platform for the Company’s growth and profitability.

The successful candidate will need to have a strategic vision to partner and guide business leaders to select proven enterprise applications that will meet both short and long-term needs and have the ability to effectively manage the implementation of those solutions to maximize their adoption throughout the Company.


  • Hands-on leader of a small team of technology professionals; manage all vendors (i.e., infrastructure and managed services providers, enterprise software vendors, software implementation services providers, telecommunications providers, etc.); and, manage the technology budget.
  • Maximize and ensure the availability, security, reliability, and redundancy of the Company’s technology and telecommunications infrastructure including all end-user computing devices, networks, storage arrays, geographically distributed collocated server infrastructure, voice systems, conferencing systems, etc.
  • Maximize and ensure the safety and security of the Company’s data.
  • Develop and lead the Company’s hardware strategy including selection of all end user computing devices, selection and implementation of desktop virtualization technology, and the ongoing, proactive, and systemic refresh of end user and network infrastructure hardware.
  • Initiate, inspire, and implement a modern technology architecture and suite of integrated business applications – supporting the reengineering of core business processes and supporting systems to maximize workflow transparency and efficiency – which eliminate manual and/or redundant tasks, optimize efficiency, and ensure a robust and secure business infrastructure and enables the Company’s growth and expansion. Be an active champion of change – supporting the Company’s leadership in effective selection and implementation of enterprise technologies.
  • Continually assess and proactively mitigate the Company’s exposure to cyber security threats by developing, implementing, and managing an effective array of cyber security best practices and technologies.
  • Track, control, and proactively maintain up-to-date inventories of all software licenses and hardware including end user computing devices and infrastructure equipment and other assets.


  • The ability to read, speak, write, and comprehend the English language is required. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals intended for a non-technical audience. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of non-technical internal customers and the general public.
  • Undergraduate college degree and current applicable certifications is required.
  • Applicable industry certifications strongly preferred, but not required: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Ten years of professional experience encompassing both corporate organizations (e.g., Fortune 1000) as well as professional services firms (e.g., consulting firms, public relations firms, law firms, architectural firms, etc. with 150+ professionals) is required.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive management experience and demonstrated career progression such as achievement of Supervisor, Manager, Senior Manager, or Director levels at relevant firms is required.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in the design, configuration, implementation, and management of Windows systems – with recent experience with enterprise Windows 10 deployment – is required.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft network operating systems, desktop OS, and virtualization systems is required.
  • Experience with administration of Office 365 E5 and Mimecast is required.
  • Experience with management of iManage Work 10 content management/document management system is required.
  • Experience with management of Microsoft SQL platform is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with management of Microsoft IIS, OKTA, and Microsoft AD is strongly preferred.
